This work is made possible by the support of Passageway Gallery and Jillian Blackwell. Two solid casts were worked on in tandem with one another, completely responsive to the unique architecture of Passageway Gallery. The exterior cast (visible to the public) presents a surface of sentimentality and mending, whereas the interior surface (only visible through a fixed set of barriers) protects a more brutal surface subsequently treated with more attention, touched more. To get to the other side, to understand it as a whole, you had to be removed from its other, complimentary, half.
