Routine Maintenance (2023)

Pelvic, transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound, sublimation print on fabric, cast cement seed pods (interior), milkweed, various flora, breath

This work is site specific to the lower level of the Cranbrook Institute of Science Parking lot and made in coordination with the Cranbrook Landscaping Team who was willing to preserve.

Dual projecting speakers at opposite ends of the parking lot omit a multi layered sound score of anxious breathing and nervous system deregulation exercises that can be heard throughout the entirety of the parking lot. The sound guides viewers to the corner of the lot where milkweed seedlings are blowing through the lot underneath collaged ultrasound imagery.
